The Providores have donated the sauces and mustards for the walk, as they also did for our picnic a few years ago. Please support them for your bulk food needs.

**ADMIN update re the 3rd Annual Pride Walk**

Hi @everyone

I thought I would give you all an update regarding the Pride Walk on June 27th at 11am, starting at the southern breakwall.

  • We have very generously been given another BBQ for the occasion (and subsequent ones I hope).
  • This means that we will be able to use this BBQ for the vego snags and onions
  • If anyone has a preference for vego snags, please let me know and that is what we will buy (majority rules)
  • We will also have gluten free beef snags as well as GF bread
  • You will need to bring what drink you are having
  • PFLAG+ Coffs Coast will be cooking and serving the BBQ and I am very thankful to them for that. They are still looking for some volunteers to help on the day, so, please, get in touch with Samantha Dawson or Rebecca Daykin for further info on that
  • We have just received some fantastic news this morning, in that IGA Boambee have kindly agreed to donate the sausages and bread for the BBQ, which is awesome. Please support them back — they are a fantastic store and huge supporters of local events and our community.
  • The Provedores are donating the sauces and mustards.
  • Woolworths Park Ave have chipped in with a gift card with which we will put towards some onions (we are gonna need a LOT of onions lol)
  • Chai Woodland (a local artist and community member) is doing a Paint and Sip Fundraiser in which all proceeds (after costs) will go towards the BBQ (more onions no doubt), so, please support him in this on 6/6/26. Thank you Chai.
  • Farley Hyland Taylor will give our acknowlegment to country
  • Morgan Cooper and their youth team are going to be creating some signs that we can all use
  • HooRai Balloons are going to be donating another beautiful heart shaped progressive flag as in previous years. We are going to be asking for a gold coin donation for this this time though as they are a business and have been very generous to us in the past
  • Live Theatre inc are hosting us and we wouldn’t have been able to do any of this this year without their support.
  • Our mayor Nikki Williams will make an appearance.
  • I have yet to hear back from Gurmesh Singh MP, but, hopefully he will be there too as he was last year.
  • Our local GLLO’s will be there
  • We will be in June’s edition of the Focus Magazine.
  • We have already been in Coffs Coast News Of The Area
  • We will be on 2AirFM soon
  • We have already done an interview with Nambucca Valley Radio
  • We will have a table of resources and flyers, so, if anyone is a part of a group that wants to put something on this table, please message me
  • The RCH volunteers have been busily handing out flyers and you may have seen some of them in your travels. Thank you to you all.
  • The RCH marshalls will be directing you on the day and making sure we stay within the constraints of the council approval

Here’s what you can do:-

  • Attend the event. It’s the only way to get the Coffs greater community on board and let them see the diversity, the comradery, and the inclusiveness that we have as a regional and proud LGBTQIA+ community
  • Promote the event to your friends, families, work, school and allies
  • Volunteer for the BBQ
  • Get there a little early to help up set up
  • Stay a little later to help us pack down
  • Bring your gazebos so that we can keep our community dry (I so hope it doesn’t rain though)
  • Perform a non rain dance on the day so it doesn’t rain.
  • Feel free to make your own signs to carry
  • Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable
  • It can sometimes be a bit scary if you havent walked before, or haven’t done anything such as stepping out of your comfort zone, but, let me assure you, you will be amongst friends and likeminded people, and it will be a great way to meet your community.
  • Sponsor or donate to us – doing all this does not come cheap
  • If you have a very large esky, may we borrow it please?
  • If you work in an ice cube factory, may we buy/have some please
  • If you can think of ANY thing else that may be of use to us on the day, please get in contact.
